Hillside.
A lifetimes work – over 21 years now - created in partnership with the client, and now developing into a Dyers Garden.
An historic Grade II* listed, chalk downland, flint-walled garden, featuring an C18th barn, lawned and cottage gardens, an orchard, and paddock meadow. The planting is naturalistic, with roses, shady trees, herbaceous, woodland, wilded and poolside feature areas.
The garden is part of the annual Open Garden programme.

“Jude has created the most magical of Sussex gardens with a sensitive and thoughtful approach that combines a deep artistic and horticultural understanding with a sensitivity for the existing nature of the garden and its setting. I dreamed of a ‘secret garden’ with areas that could be discovered and delighted in. In response Jude inspired us with the most beautiful hand-drawn design that reflected the shape and natural character of the garden’s spaces. Jude’s original and subsequent plans have created many enchanting paths and discoveries which reflect the hillside nature of the garden and the different purposes to which the garden is enjoyed.”
